- Pro Unlocked
SMS Backup & Restore Pro is a specialized Android application designed to back up and restore SMS, MMS, and call logs. Users can rest assured about their data when switching devices, resetting settings, or accidentally deleting important information, thanks to its ability to create backups and perform quick restorations. The Pro version is ad-free and integrates several advanced data protection features.
How the app backs up data
SMS Backup & Restore Pro stands out for its ability to store data in XML format, including SMS, MMS, and call history. Users can choose to back up everything or only specific messages, then upload them to cloud services like Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive.
Support for scheduled backups helps users automatically save data without manual intervention. This feature is especially useful for those who frequently receive important messages. Backup data can be viewed directly through the app, making it easier to check content before restoration.
Transfer messages to a new phone
When switching Android devices, SMS Backup & Restore Pro supports transferring data from the old phone to the new one via Wi-Fi Direct or by using a previous backup. The storage format is independent of the operating system, making it compatible with many devices.
The Pro version offers data compression, encryption, and WebDAV support as a storage destination. These are convenient options if users want to control how their personal communication information is stored.
Usage tips and backup guide
Before use, create a full backup and verify its integrity. If you frequently receive new data, set up an automatic backup schedule to reduce the risk of losing recent messages. Important data should be stored in a separate location, such as the cloud or an external device.
Note that the app only restores data if a backup already exists. SMS Backup & Restore Pro does not support recovering messages that were deleted without ever being backed up. Additionally, the app's proprietary XML format is not compatible with backups from other software.
Conclusion
SMS Backup & Restore Pro provides a comprehensive solution for managing SMS, MMS, and call logs on Android. Features like automatic backups, data transfer, cloud storage, and compression/encryption options make it ideal for users who want to protect their communication data. Check your backups regularly and keep at least one copy in a safe location before deleting data or resetting your device.
